Rituals of Chandanapally Folk Lore Important : Dr. O. S. Unnikrishnan
Kerala Folk Lore Academy Chairman Dr. O. S. said that the rituals at the Chandanapally large church are Akshayakhani for Christian folklore learners and researchers. Unnikrishnan said. The aim of folklore studies is to restore the uniqueness and identity of the society. Chandanapalli Perunnal, which includes art forms such as Maragam Kali, Parichamutukali and Idakkalipatt, and rituals such as chempesh and chutukatta ket, has been a locally distinct celebration for more than two hundred years. A careful observation of such celebrations can understand how art, customs and ways of life lead to cultural growth and development. He was inaugurating the Christian Folk Lore Seminar held in connection with Chandanapally St. George Orthodox Valiyapally festival. Vicar Rev. Fr. Shiju John presided. Aluva.U.C. Dr. M. I.
