Rituals of Chandanapally Folk Lore Important : Dr. O. S. Unnikrishnan

  Kerala Folk Lore Academy Chairman Dr. O. S. said that the rituals at the Chandanapally large church are Akshayakhani for Christian folklore learners and researchers. Unnikrishnan said. The aim of folklore studies is to restore the uniqueness and identity of the society. Chandanapalli Perunnal, which includes art forms such as Maragam Kali, Parichamutukali and Idakkalipatt, and rituals such as chempesh and chutukatta ket, has been a locally distinct celebration for more than two hundred years. A careful observation of such celebrations can understand how art, customs and ways of life lead to cultural growth and development. Chandanapally St. George Orthodox Valiyapalli Copper harvest today

  Chandanapally: Pilgrim gathering and copper collection will be held today as part of the festival at the global pilgrimage centre. Sowing of rice at 6 am today. Jivamata Karunya Bhavan sheltered the old mother.

                       Jivamata Karunya Bhavan took over an 82-year-old mother named Annamma, who had no place to go and no one to protect her from Tiruvalla Taluk Hospital.  Shaji Pastor of the Compassion Team organization called Udayagirija, Director of Karunya Bhavan, and Annamma took care of Amma.  Amma was taken to Taluk Taluk Hospital in the presence of Compassion Team workers Shijo Mon, Nitin Jacob, Marimuthu, Gokul Chakkulathukav, Ward Member Rajitha Jason, Secretary Sujith, Head Nurse Binduja and Varsha Vigilante.  Director Udayagirija informed that the necessary treatment and follow-up care has been undertaken for Annamma

Kudumbashree CDS Annual and Art Fair

Kodumon :- Deputy Speaker Chittayam Gopakumar inaugurated the Kudumbashree CDS Annual and Kala Mela in Kodumon Panchayat. Kodumon Village Panchayat President KK Sreedharan presided over the function held at St. Bahanan's Malankara Catholic Church Auditorium. Kudumbashree members were mobilized and a cultural procession and art programs were also held as part of the annual celebration. CDS Chairperson Seejamol, Palakot Block Panchayat President R Thulasidharan Pillai, Advocate RB Rajeev Kumar who is the Chairman of the Standing Committee, Kunhannamma Kunj, C Prakash Panchayat Vice President Dhanyadevi, Adila S, Suku K and various ward members spoke on the occasion. Zilla Panchayat Development Standing Committee Chairperson Beena Prabha flagged off the cultural procession marking the start of the event.
